Susana
Online Senior Math Tutor
I have had the privilege of being part of the Action Tutoring family for over three years. Teaching, guiding, and sharing knowledge are my greatest passions.
I’ve been teaching mathematics for more than 20 years. I hold an MSc in Mathematics Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Alongside mathematics, Spanish has also been an important part of my teaching career. I have volunteered with Spanish language groups, as well as taught and tutored at some Education Centres in Hamilton, NZ
For the past four years, I have been fortunate to call Cambridge my home. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing board and card games, solving mathematical puzzles, dancing to all kinds of music, traveling, and discovering new cultures and stories.
Being part of Action Tutoring continues to be an incredibly rewarding journey, as it allows me to inspire and support students in their learning while sharing my love for education.

Kath
Owner/Director
I’ve proudly owned and operated Action Tutoring for over 10 years. My core belief is that every child has the ability to learn, and that learning should never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. I still work in schools to keep up with what is happening in our education system. I genuinely enjoy working closely with parents and caregivers to find the best fit for each child’s learning journey.
With a degree in teaching and classroom experience across Years 1 to 13, I bring both professional knowledge and personal passion to supporting young learners.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy learning about and experiencing different cultures and being creative, spending time with the family, and our two dogs. Currently, I’m exploring my relationship with clay, which is messy but fun.

Though retired, I feel I still have a contribution to make in the community by tutoring. I'm a grandma and enjoy family time, walking, reading, and the arts. I'm passionate about people and our beautiful planet!
Meeting and working with people is fulfilling and provides a great way to engage with lifelong learners.

I grew up in Hampshire and West Sussex in England. For a short time, I worked at DECCA’s classical recording studios in West Hampstead. I moved to New Zealand in 1977 and have worked in the music industry ever since.

Cooper
Senior Maths, Accounting and Science Tutor
Kia ora, my name is Cooper. I am currently a third-year Psychology student studying under a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a minor in Forensic Psychology. I plan to go into neuroscience to do memory research.
As someone who always found maths and many other subjects quite boring, I was very surprised to come to university and find that they can be incredibly enjoyable. I want to show that passion to any students currently feeling that way, and help to find their own passion.
Naturally, given my area of study, my interests are science, mathematics, and reading.

Daniel
Senior Math, English, Physics and Music Theory Tutor
Hi, I’m Daniel. I am currently in my penultimate year of study at the University of Waikato, studying a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering with Honours.
I am originally from Cambridge and am now living in Hamilton, where I am currently studying. Throughout middle school and my early years of high school, I found mathematics to be quite challenging and uninteresting. However, through tutoring and much practice, I have grown to love mathematics and physics, where I hope to help students enjoy mathematics and physics the same way I have. Aside from studying, I am a keen musician, where I predominantly play piano. I also enjoy reading and taking walks in my spare time.

Dani
Junior Math and English Tutor
"Hi! My name is Dani, and I am a part of the amazing team at Action Tutoring, helping the next generation understand the world alongside myself.
As a local high school student who has always loved a school environment, I aim to encourage other students of all ages to find the enjoyment in learning, no matter how difficult it may seem. In my spare time, I hang out with friends, craft, and partake in sports such as cycling on the velodrome, netball, and mixed martial arts. The Cambridge Kenpo 5.0 karate studio was where I found my love for teaching others, which then carried on to tutoring!"

Paola
Math Tutor up to year 10 Tutor
Kia ora!
My name is Paola. I love puzzles and riddles; anything that requires deciphering thrills me. I love books and cameras as well. If there is an epic battle in a fantasy world, I am there with my nose in the book. As well as this, I love to create stories as well, through photography and videography, and I love to create stories to share!
I am currently planning to study engineering or cinematography in the near future!
I hope to inspire the students I teach and help them understand the secrets of math and science!

Poojani
Math Tutor up to Year 10
Hi, I’m Poojani!
I’m a friendly and supportive tutor who enjoys helping students feel more confident in maths. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in International Management and Business and my Master’s in Management from the University of Plymouth in the UK. I’m currently studying for my second Master’s in Digital Business at the University of Waikato, and I’ve also completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification.
I love teaching and always aim to make learning simple, clear, and enjoyable for every student. Everyone learns differently, and I’m here to support you in a way that works best for you.
Outside of studying and teaching, I enjoy travelling, spending time with dogs, and making a positive impact on others’ lives. I look forward to helping you on your learning journey!

Emma
Maths, Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics
Hey everyone, I am Emma.
Education is my passion because it has been a journey of growth for me. I love being able to help students, and I enjoy being a tutor for maths and the sciences. I’ll show you that learning is fun!
In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, reading, and working with horses. I love animals, especially cats, which is why you’ll always find me trying to give another one a home. I aspire to be a vet, doctor, or at least do something in the sciences. Nothing is set in stone, and I’m looking forward to what the world has set for me.
